The Danish Epidemiological Society (DES)

DES has by 2016 approximately 430 members with a background in public health, statistics, medicine or other clinical areas. The Society publishes an electronic Newsletter (DES-Orientering), run an updated website www.dansk-epidemiologisk-selskab.dk and organizes meetings. The Society takes part in the IEA European Collaboration and is part of the Nordic Epidemiology Collaboration.

The Society represents Danish epidemiologist in several committees and it is active in communicating important new research findings and research methods to its members, either through its meetings or by using our website, newsletter or other means. DES also takes part in the public debate for topics that influence our research infrastructure.

DES has an open policy concerning memberships and welcome students as well as more established scientists or public health workers. The Society covers both clinical epidemiology and public health epidemiology.
