Call FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS

At the upcoming general assembly on June 23rd, we will have the opportunity to welcome new DES board members. As most current board members are based in the Copenhagen area, we particularly encourage epidemiologists from institutions in Northern, Western, and Southern Denmark to consider joining the DES board. You can read more about the board here: https://www.dansk-epidemiologisk-selskab.dk/om-des/bestyrelsen/ and about the DES bylaws here: https://www.dansk-epidemiologisk-selskab.dk/om-des/vedtaegter/.

The DES board is responsible for all decisions made in the society and we organize two yearly scientific meetings. The board meets approximately once a month online and additional meetings are held in subgroups as needed. All board work is unpaid, but fun! And most administrative work is handled by our amazing student assistant.

If you want to run for the DES board, please send your application to us at dansk.epidemiologisk.selskab@outlook.dk no later than three days before the general assembly. Your application should include your name and title. At the general assembly, you will have the opportunity to provide a short presentation of yourself and why you wish to be elected for the board. If you cannot attend the general assembly, please include a short text of max 300 words in your application. We look forward to welcome new board members.

SAVE THE DATE: DES AUTUMN MEETING

We would like to share initial details about the upcoming very exciting DES Autumn Meeting, which will take place on 22-23 September 2026 at Hotel Nyborg Strand.

We are delighted to announce that Professor Maya Petersen is our first confirmed speaker for the DES Fall Meeting 2026. Professor Petersen, from UC Berkeley, is internationally recognised for her pioneering work at the intersection of AI, statistical inference, and causal inference, particularly through her leadership in developing the Causal Roadmap - a framework for transparent, rigorous causal analysis in health research. Her expertise and innovative methods promise to make her session a highlight of this year’s meeting.
