We look forward to your contributions and to a stimulating and insightful meeting.

Call for board members for the Danish Epidemiological Society (DES)

DES will be electing members to our board at the general assembly during the Winter Meeting, December 3rd, 2025, and we hope to include new board members. There will be more than one vacant position.

To be a DES board member, you must be a DES member. In addition, you should have a deep interest in epidemiology and a wish to help facilitate dissemination of epidemiological knowledge in Denmark. Candidates of any age, gender, nationality, and position can be elected as board members.

DES is a scientific society with approximately 400 members who share an interest in epidemiological methods and their applications. The DES board are responsible for all decisions made in the society and we organize two yearly scientific meetings. The board meets approximately once a month online and additional meetings are held in subgroups as needed. All board work is unpaid. Most administrative work is handled by our amazing student assistant.

Requests to run for the board should be sent to dansk.epidemiologisk.selskab@outlook.dk no later than three days before the general assembly. We look forward to welcome new board members.

We are seeking a new student assistant in DES!

We encourage members of DES to consider potential candidates for the position. As a student assistant, the tasks include supporting the board and members as well as assisting with the planning and organization of larger events. We imagine a student enrolled in a higher education program preferably with an interest in or connection to epidemiological research or teaching, though this is not a requirement. Strong communication skills in Danish and preferably also in English are important. The role requires independence but also offers great flexibility, as most tasks can be carried out online regardless of where the candidate lives. Read more here.
