Call for Nominations for the Schroll Prize – The Young Epidemiological Talent

The Board invites nominations for the Schroll Prize, with the deadline on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. The prize is awarded to a young epidemiological researcher who has distinguished themselves within epidemiological research, teaching, or methodological development. Candidates may be nominated by supervisors, colleagues or other relevant persons, and the nominator must be a member of the Danish Epidemiological Society. The candidate must have defended their PhD no more than four years prior to October 8, 2025. The prize includes the opportunity to give a presentation at DES’ Winter Meeting as well as a monetary award of DKK 5,000. DES Winter meeting 2025 in Odense with international speakers

Now we can unveil some of the speakers for the DES Winter Meeting 2025 held 3rd and 4th December 2025 at the Comwell Odense. There will be a session about "Causal inference" with confirmed speakers of Sonja Swanson (University of Pittsburg, USA) and Long Nguyen, (University of Copenhagen). Other sessions are about “Target trials” with Lina Steinrud Mørch (Danish Cancer Society) and Yuelian Sun (Aarhus University) and a debate on “Methods in vaccine research” with Christine Stabell Benn (University of Southern Denmark) and Henrik Støvring (Aarhus University) that will be moderated by Line Gertsen.
Registration for the Winter meeting will open soon. There will be reduced prices for DES members.
