Reminder: Register for the DES Summer Meeting by 14 June

Reminder: Register for the DES Summer Meeting by 14 June

event_note Dato: 08-06-2026

There is now less than one week left to register for the DES Summer Meeting and General Assembly, taking place in Copenhagen on 23-24 June 2026.

The programme includes:

  • The annual DES Summer Meeting and General Assembly (23 June)
  • A full-day workshop on Bayesian approaches to statistical inference (24 June)

Bayesian statistics is, in many ways, how we reason in everyday life: we start with what we know, gather new information, and update our beliefs accordingly. This year's workshop will introduce Bayesian approaches to statistical inference and is open to all epidemiologists who are curious about the concepts. No prior knowledge is required.

The Summer Meeting offers an opportunity to meet colleagues from across Denmark, discuss current epidemiological research, and participate in this year’s General Assembly.

Registration closes on 14 June 2026.

Reminder: DES Board Elections

We would also like to remind members that elections for the DES Board will take place at the General Assembly on 23 June.

We encourage all DES members who are interested in contributing to the Danish epidemiological community to consider running for election to the DES Board. We particularly welcome candidates from the Northern, Western, and Southern Denmark and private sector/industry to keep the board representative of all epidemiologists.

The board is responsible for the overall activities of DES, including organising scientific meetings and supporting the epidemiological community in Denmark.

If you would like to run for the board, please send your name and title to dansk.epidemiologisk-selskab@outlook.dk no later than 20 June 2026. Candidates who are unable to attend the General Assembly may instead submit a short statement (maximum 300 words).

You can read more about the board and the DES bylaws on the DES website.

Save the Date: DES Autumn Meeting 2026

Please also save the date for the DES Autumn Meeting, which will take place on 22-23 September 2026 at Nyborg Strand.

The meeting will focus on modern epidemiological methods, including mediation, decomposition, and target trial emulation. We are delighted to confirm Professor Maya Petersen (UC Berkeley), Dr Gemma Hammerton (Bristol Medical School) and Professor Sam Harper (McGill University) among this year's invited speakers.

The full programme has just been released on LinkedIn, and registration opens 15 June.

We hope to see many of you in Copenhagen this June and again in Nyborg this September.
